Low-Tech Eclipse Viewing

Small "pinhole" openings (such as the gaps between your fingers) produce pinhole images of the light source, i.e., the Sun in this case. As the Sun was partially eclipsed the image is a crescent, not the usual "round" image we usually see. This effect always impresses people who haven't seen it before. It's one of the few things that is just as good for a partial eclipse as a total.
