Gone ICQUS-ingHere Burak is explaining the relation of the "wagon wheel" symbol (which is scratched liked grafitti all over Ephesus and elsewhere apparently) to the Christian "fish" symbol we see on bumper stickers today. The Greek acronym "ICQUS" stands for "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior" but it is also the Greek word "Ichthus" which means "fish". The wagon wheel symbol is made by tracing all five of the Greek letters in the acronym over each other (try it yourself - the S has arcs for the top and bottom strokes). |
